Aside from my work in graphic design and painting, I do a lot of screen printing, embroidery and other garment printing. Occasionally I get some unique jobs that I don’t get to do very often. I recently had something like that come up for a hockey team. I never played hockey growing up and was never really much of an ice skater – so I don’t have a lot of contacts within the local ice hockey community here in Virginia Beach. But one of my clients referred me to a local men’s hockey team called the Old Puckers. As you can tell by their team graphic, they are a fun bunch of guys. They were a blast to work with and their jerseys turned out great.
Their team jersey is a high-quality, 100% polyester hockey shirt and we used a printable, thermoflex material that is heat-transferred directly onto the garment. The process is an industry standard for athletic shirts and other uniform pieces and holds up very well to heavy activity and multiple washings. There is no setup fee associated with the process because the printing is done digitally – so, it’s really a cost effective way to get high quality results.
